God is Our True Provider
In this modern world, where people tend to rely on themselves, we often forget that God is our true provider. We are blessed not because of our hard work but because God is with us.
Sometimes, we think we cannot help others because we don’t have that much, but we should remember that Jesus fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish. So whatever you have, give it to Jesus and let Jesus multiply it.
Scripture - Matthew 14:16-17 (CSB)
16 “They don’t need to go away,” Jesus told them. “You give them something to eat.”
17 “But we only have five loaves and two fish here,” they said to him.
Observation
In this story, there were more than five thousand people following Jesus because they wanted to listen to Jesus’ teachings and see the miracles. It was getting late and the disciples worried that these people needed food and asked Jesus to send them home. But Jesus had another plan. Having compassion on them, Jesus fed them with five loaves of bread and two fish.
Jesus cares about both spiritual needs and physical needs. And teach us to have faith instead of relying on human logic. We sometimes forget that God is almighty and nothing is impossible for God.
Application
Based on the story of Jesus feeding 5000 people, we can learn:
Stop living by our logical thinking and start living by faith in God.
Believe that God will provide everything we need. God is our true provider.
Jesus cares about our physical and spiritual needs.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Forgive us for relying on ourselves instead of having faith on You. Thank You for reminding us that You are our true provider. You care for us and provide us more than we need. Help us to be a blessing for others through what we already have.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
