Be Humble
In modern days, pride hides behind what we call “identity”. If you’re struggling with the spirit of pride, you might want to read this.
Scripture - Proverbs 16:5 (CSB)
‘Everyone with a proud heart is detestable to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished.’
Observation
Many Scriptures in the Bible tell how detestable a proud heart is. From Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, and Pharisees, they had a proud heart. And God doesn’t like a proud heart. It’s about what’s in our heart, not outward behavior. God is the only one who can see what’s inside our hearts. Pride is the cause of Satan’s fall. We can learn from the Scriptures that pride leads to consequences and God’s judgment.
Application
Ask God to reveal any prideful attitudes inside our hearts. And listen to what God says.
Repentance. From my personal experience, daily repentance is important for me.
Remember that we can’t do anything without God. Humble yourself before God.
Remember that Jesus paid the price we cannot. Being wealthy or successful doesn’t guarantee that you will enter the Kingdom of God.
Prayer
Lord, I confess that pride can creep into my heart in ways I don’t always see. Help me to walk in humility and to depend on You, not myself. Teach me to honor You in all I do and to give You the glory. Keep my heart soft and teachable.
